What Has Been Going on at Beads2string

Great things have been happening with Beads2string. A brand new website has been designed with you in mind. Come check it out at Beads2string.com if you haven't already done so. You will be able to have a log in to keep track of your orders and wish lists. (You can also checkout as a guest if you prefer.) Hoping this will bring you an even better shopping experience. If you encounter any mishaps please let me know so it can get checked out. This new website will also help to offer coupons, promotions, gift cards and more. The new website also provides 2 ways to browse categories, either from the home page with the pictures that depict each category or you can also utilize the category menu on the top of the page. The top menu will be able to be accessed from each page of the website. When shopping, you will be able to see the quantity available right on that page; previous host did not allow this option. I love that you can create wish lists to help you shop for your different jewelry designs.

You will be able to pay for your purchase with a credit card, PayPal, and PayPal credit as you choose. Eventually there will also be a way for you to shop and pay later (still deciding on which host to use for that). I know what it is like to want to expand your inventory but capital can be low, so buy now pay later payment plans are a great way to grow your business.

Psst.... and that isn't all. There are hundreds of new beads for you to shop for. Beads will be getting listed through out the rest of the year so have patience with me please. It will definitely be worth the wait. There are more vintage beads and cabochons, glass beads, acrylic beads, Czech beads, gemstones and findings.

A Craft Beginning...

So excited to announce more items are being added to http://Beads2string.com; to be exact, craft supplies. The heart of Beads2string is to create, to craft, to imagine. The end goal has always been to be a supplier to a multitude of craft ideas. This website initially began with jewelry supplies and will now expand in to other creative endeavors for your shopping experience. The left side navigation menu on the website will show what items will be listed. Currently we are working on getting handmade die cuts, paper flowers, ribbons, and a variety of floral supplies listed. When inventory has been added for a certain category in the craft supplies a new post for "This Just In.." will be added to the blog to let you know those items are now available to shop in the store. Here is a sneak peek of a few items that will soon be available to add to your shopping experience.

This Just In... Flower Beads

Don't you just love flowers? It is so much fun to incorporate flowers into jewelry. The creativity of bringing the colors and different styles of flowers can bring earrings, necklaces, hair clips, and bracelets to life. There are a variety of mediums to choose from when it comes to flower beads and cabochons: acrylic, resin, clay, metal, glass. How about using your own style and creativity to mix and layer different mediums. This week I've been working on getting more flowers posted at Beads2string.com for you. What Has Been Going on at Beads2string Update

First, let me apologize for being MIA far too long. As you can see blogging went on the back burner as I've been revamping the Beads2string.com website. I've learned a lot about web design and have been able to bring a better look and hopefully a better shopping experience to the site over the past year. Hoping the soft gray choices in color will help bring out the colors of the beads for you along with being easy on the eyes. There are now two ways to shop categories; from the left menu or scrolling along the center of the home page. With the center home page categories this will also help continue to grow mobile shopping customers so future growth can continue all around. All of the categories on the left menu are set up as to what items will be available in the future. Currently the main categories of beads are available and ready to shop. In regards to the craft supply items, they will continually be listed through out the next few months. Once more of the craft items are ready to shop, will be adding their categories to the center home page area for you. Am hoping to continually grow the craft supply sections as the year moves ahead. There will be a plethera of ribbons, trims, party supplies, floral supplies, and wedding supplies. There will also be a handmade die cut section that will be directly made by TheKraftyPlace aka Beads2string.

Updates on websites where Beads2string can be found... So it was a long and hard decision to close Beads2string on Etsy last year. It was with great amount of tears that it was finally let go. Beads2string began the journey in 2007 on Etsy and had a blast while it lasted. I thank every one of you that made a purchase there. I won't go in to the why's of the decision as every one will have their own opinion as to what has been happening on Etsy the last few years. I've been around long enough to see the highs and the lows of retail both online and in person. Some will say there are theories and others will say it is an ebb n' flow of the business. Those that "get it" will get it and those that don't, won't "get it" until it happens to them. I am just grateful to all my customers who were patient and followed as I've grown this new website to where it is now and hope you will be excited for the future as I am to where the journey will take it. So for the next year at least I will be concentrating on Beads2string.com and will continue to have Beads2string.ecrater.com up and running. Occasionally items get listed on ebay at Bead2string.

In regards to TheKraftyPlace, for now  TheKraftyPlace.etsy.com will continue to be up and running. The main goal this year will be concentrating on moving all the craft supply items over here to Beads2string.com to gain a greater online audience. By getting the craft items here, am hoping the shopping audience will truly love what is offered so that I may continue to grow the craft inventory.

Crafting in general is in my blood and runs deep in my family. If you have ever read my back story you will have seen I began at a young age when my Grandma made ceramics and gave some to me to paint. Then my Grandpa made a dollhouse and the creativity for making was ignited. In high school I began the love of floral design. By my 20's I was then designing and selling my jewelry. At this stage in my life where I find myself to be in the mist of several chronic invisible diseases it has not only been a joy but a way of life to be able to once again create and bring supplies to customers around the world. By Grace and mercy I have made designing creativity a way of income not just for myself but for others around the world that needed a way to make an extra source of money. I can only hope that this blessing can continue for many years to come for both you and me.

This year is going to be the year of growth at Beads2string.com. So far to date half of the jewelry making supplies inventory for beads and findings have been listed. Will continue towards the rest of the inventory getting listed for you. Along with the continued hunt for more new treasures to offer.

This is the year for expansion at Beads2string. There will be many expansions during the coming months like more beads, finishing the new main website, adding all inventory to current venues. Right now though, is new beautiful inventory with Czech glass beads. Have some really great colors for opaque and the picasso coated beads. Also, the fabulous new birds egg coated beads. This Just In . . . More Beads

Have been shopping again. So what's new? If you have a bead and findings store the hunt for inventory never ends. I am totally fine with that as I've given up my previous love of hunting, gathering, selling vintage and antiques. This need for the hunt is to your advantage because I'm always on the look out for great deals and fabulous finds. This time around I have new Czech glass beads in two toned shades that are very popular right now. Also have some beautiful gemstones which are a limited quantity; what will be listed is all I was able to get. Pictured are bronzite, rhodonite, turquoise howlite. Have been working for the past month on giving you another place to shop online. Made a commitment to fellow artisans to have Beads2string with you on Zibbet for this next year. As you are trying to get your shops and eggs in another basket I decided it was only right to join you. So far have about 680 beads listed and will be working on getting about 1,000 more listed.

I'm Back!! On Etsy that is

Yes the title is correct. Beads2string is proudly back on Etsy. And currently trying to get as many beads listed as my hands can handle typing. Right now there are 150 items listed in the store. Oh my do I have some work ahead of me haha, with over a 1,000 items still to list. I am so very excited about this because as I list beads, I get more inspiration because the new pictures look so amazing. 2 beads have already been listed in treasuries and for those that chose my items I am greatful.

This new or re-newed adventure is inspiration and a blessing. If some have wondered what the heck happened to the store on Etsy it was just gone. I do apologize for that. After being unemployed, moving, a computer that died on me Beads2string was closed. It was truly not my intention to disappear as I loved the time on Etsy and getting to know some of my customers, who are all wonderful. Well a lot has happened and good times and blessings are ahead. I took it to prayer and the decision was made. With the help of the wonderful Etsy staff, my store is back up and can't wait to bring you good deals on beads again. With every order that comes in I lift it up and give thanks for the blessings, not only for me but for you. I want to bring you wonderful beads at great prices so that you can make a good profit on your jewelry designs.

Porcelain Beads New Addition

So excited to announce a new category section for the website stores. Just got in a box of porcelain beads for you at a special price. Pictures have been taken, edited, and listings are going up. This means I can bring large porcelain beads to your inventory for a great price. You know how I love to look for deals and pass them on. So with this new addition there has to be a change with the homepage categories on the http://Beads2string.net website. There will now be a picture for the porcelain bead category on the homepage. The decision has been made to move the "vintage bead" category into the "plastic lucite resin bead" category. From there, sub-categories for "vintage lucite beads" and "vintage plastic beads" will be added to the over all plastic category. For the ArtFire store and http://beads2string.com store there will be a new "porcelain bead" section.

Really hope that you enjoy the selection of porcelain beads I was able to obtain. This is just the beginning and a test run to see what beads you really like. This Just In... More Bead Inventory

Hi all, just popping in to let you know that the Beads2string stores will be growing again, with inventory that is. Have a lot of different beads that just arrived and will be working this month on taking pictures so that the beads can get listed for you. As you can see below have a variety of gemstones and new flower cabachons for you. Also a 6 different acrylic flower beads to create beautiful jewelry with. Was able to get different colors in dyed howlite skulls which will be so fun to create with. Can't wait to get some good pictures and start working on the listings. Today just got 2 boxes of glass beads, glass pearls, shell beads, and porcelain beads. So there will be a new category showing up at the bead stores for porcelain beads this month. If you have been looking for larger porcelain beads for pendants, well they will be up soon.

Pictures... A Growing Step

Ok so if you don't already know, I'm obsessed with the pictures on all the beads, gemstones, jewelry findings at Beads2string. Through the years you can see the difference right here on the blog with the evolution of product pictures. The following questions usually go through the mind when deciding on the photography look of the store:

Do you have an object in the background?
Should you use different bright colored backgrounds to look fresh and funky?
Should you use a classic black background or perhaps a white background?

Originally started with white backgrounds and then went for some changes. Tried the different color backgrounds and it was fun, but just not the over all look I wanted for the stores. Really loved the look of the black background. Think it was more artistic and classy. In most pictures also had included an object that the beads were draped on. Started to browse around and realized that if Beads2string was going to expand even bigger across the world the pictures needed to be uniform in look. Although, the black was artsy fartsy I needed to be able to grab a window shoppers attention, bring them into the store, and really let the beads speak for themselves. If you look at most of the big bead guys they have the white background and in a way it does look more professional. Plus there are studies out there that indicate more people click through to the website with white backgrounds.

So there you have it... white backgrounds it is. Though stones like moonstone, quartz will have to be done on a different color so you can see it as we all know white on white is a little hard to see haha. It would be so simple to go back to those pictures if only. ARGH! Yes, all of those pictures were lost when my computer took a nose dive. For the past 2 years I've been trying to recapture the beautiful pictures that once were. Kept getting red or blue hues. Just couldn't get the look that was originally there. Believe this to be the key to why I lost my gumption, my pizazz, motivation to get hundreds of beads listed. But there is an ah and a very big AHH!! to this story. Recently received a piece of furniture from a friend. I looked at it and said hmmm wonder how pictures would turn out. Well guess what, they are fabulous. Just the thing to get my gumption, pizazz, and motivation back to bring you beautiful treasures of the earth, marvels of glass and metal to create your work of art. Here is a couple of sneak peeks at the new and improved photos that will be going up.

Wow, even making this post and seeing the above pictures is making me excited. That is just what I need to keep Beads2string alive and grow to the next step. Just can't wait for the next growth spurt and be able to bring you even more wonderful treasures.

Some may know that last year was a new beginning for the Beads2string family. That is to say a new website was on its way. It would be great for those Customers who do not want to shop via a venue but rather one separate website. So began the creation of http://Beads2string.com. I was all excited and geared up to take this task on, learning more about html and coding. It was looking really good, and then came the task of uploading the bead and findings inventory. Do you know how many items Beads2string actually has at this time? May be small compared to the big bead guys but, there is over 1,000 items and continually growing. With this next step in the family it will be able to help the business grow so that will mean the inventory can grow. It will be exciting some day to look back on this blog and laugh because there will be thousands of items in the inventory at that time. Bring it on I say! (haha) 

Well in the fall of last year I became really sick and did not know what was going on. A few trips to the emergency room, plenty of Dr visits and they were able to determine what was going on. It meant a couple of surgeries and of course the run around of getting those appointments set in stone. I won't bore you with the details. As my body is not normal and already have auto-immune issues, fibromyalgia, Sjogrens, sleep apnea this caused complications which meant more delays. I am now glad to say that is all behind me, I pray to our Lord that there won't be an extended stay in the hospital for me for a very long time. (This also explains why I've been absent from blogging lately.)

Now the good stuff... yes have been able to get back to work and finish the details of the new website. So now has been the process of listing beads, beads, and more beads. Oh and don't forget the jewelry findings. And since my exist from Etsy, have also been getting the other 2 venues fully stocked. The below is a sneak peek at the new website. Payment method choices will be Google Wallet or PayPal. The quantities for findings have been dropped so that you can better choose how many you want. While I work on this the inventory for all websites are becoming the same amount. Therefore, you can go to the location you prefer to shop and visit Beads2string. But please don't think you can grab the same item from all sites as this would cause a refund to you. (When you bought from one site, you bought what was available on the other sites.)

Look What the Clouds Brought In

Aw summertime... For most, I'm sure you think summertime in California has to be gorgeous with the beaches and mountains. It can't get more than 70 or 80 degrees there right? Ha! You have been watching too much tv or movies. Or perhaps if you have ever visited California it was coastal and not beyond a mountain range. Most of California is a desert which means it can get up to 100-115 degrees during the day and no cooling off in the evenings. Where I live is closer to the desert area so dry, hot, heat is what you get. There are days you see shade under a tree and think ah relief. Further from the truth, there is no wind so dry, hot, heat even in the shade. Well last week we got a break and there was a very overcast and cloudy day. It was actually too cold to wear shorts and I was really wishing I had a sweatshirt. It felt like a normal day at the beach. But I pressed on and took 647 pictures of gemstones. Was able to take some pictures of gemstones that have a high glossy coating and have been really hard to get a shot without all the glare. So this next week I will be re-doing some of the pictures of listings and also listing some new beads for you to enjoy. Here is just a small sample:

My Little Corner of Facebook

YaY!! Excited to announce my own little corner of Facebook now has it's own official url. Thanks to all who have been "liking" Beads2string on Facebook, http://facebook.com/Beads2string is now alive and kicking. You know I literally could not have done it without you. It will look more professional being able to use this nice, neat url instead of that long jibberish one don't you think?

To a New Year and Changes

This year is going to be fabulous I can already tell. Or at least I'm bound and determined to make it go that way haha. Am very excited to soon be introducing some more flowers to the bead stores. Including some pretty flower cabochons, so be looking for the pretties coming in February. There will also be some new charms coming your way too.

For those of you who may not be following me on Twitter I've had some changes going on this past year. One particular is a new computer due to the death of the old one. With that, went pictures of all the beads and findings in the stores. So it is time to get an overhaul, revamp, chachachachanges with the look of the store pictures. You will be seeing a lot of colors soon with the backgrounds of the product pictures. Some can already be seen with the findings category. Hope you like the changes coming your way.

Change Up for Chat on ArtFire

Live chat is still available when you visit Beads2string on Artfire; however, I've done a little change. No longer will the chat box be provided by AIM. Instead the chat box is now brought to you by Yahoo's Messenger Pingbox. This system will give better functionality to the live chat option. If you utilize the chatbox you can choose to use your Yahoo IM account or be a guest account. If you are an ArtFire member or previous customer, please just let me know who you are.

Ok so the real reason behind this change is that the AIM chat would come up in a different tab on my browser window. If I am in deep thought listing beads I may not realize or see the blinking tab. (hey I am blonde and have a 30 second delay haha). With the Yahoo pingbox it acts just like the Yahoo Messenger and comes up in a pop up box on my window so all around it will help to better assist your concerns. And a big bonus with the Pingbox is you can set cute backgrounds for the chat box. Now with that option alone how could I refuse?
